About

Founded in 2008
Tokyo, OK is a anime and Japanese pop culture convention with deep roots in Oklahoma’s fan community. Starting first as a block party party in 2006, and originally founded as Tokyo in Tulsa, the event has grown and evolved over nearly two decades, reflecting both the changing landscape of fandom and the expanding community it serves. Today, Tokyo, OK continues that legacy under a renewed name and under new management, while honoring the history that built it.
Produced now as a program of the Oklahoma Society for Culture Appreciation (OS4CA),
Tokyo, OK brings together fans, creators, industry guests, artists, and educators for a shared celebration of anime, gaming, cosplay, art, music, and Japanese popular culture. The event features panels, performances, workshops, our famous Shopping Bazaar, and interactive programming designed to educate, entertain, and connect.
At its core, Tokyo, OK is about community. Built by fans and guided by experience, the convention is intentionally welcoming, inclusive, and accessible whether you’re a longtime attendee who remembers its early years or a first-time fan discovering anime culture for the first time. Through thoughtful programming and structured operations, Tokyo, OK reflects OS4CA’s mission of Promoting Education and Community through Entertainment.
